We are now offering an OBD2
reprogramming kit which allows you to flash our custom programs into OBD2 PCMs
without having to remove the ECM from vehicle to send to us. Read on to
find out about how this kit can work for you -- whether you are an individual
1-time customer, or a partner reseller shop of our tunes.
Only
requirement is laptop or desktop PC with Windows 98 or higher. Not
recommended on 64-bit Vista. If your machine does not have a native
serial COM port (most now don't), you will need a USB/serial adapter. We
usually stock them -- $45 +
shipping. Do NOT use generic adapters because
the adapter requires a specific (FTDI) chipset. The kit comes with our software
installation CD, instructions and an OBD2 communications interface.
It is very easy to use, point-and-click to read or write to the ECM. It is
also safer than many other programming devices bc for typical tunes it only
rewrites the data segment of the ECM instead of erasing the entire memory, so
even in rare cases of aborted programming event due to communication loss, the
ECM may usually be recovered.
How it works:
Read and write to the ECM
of unlimited
number of currently supported vehicles
(see
below). You email us
(either the original program you saved from the ECM, or just the VIN and your tuning needs
about the vehicle), we email you the
custom program for it and you just flash it in, that's it. This is convenient if you are a shop
reselling our tunes to your own customers. It is also convenient
to make multiple adjustments to a tune w/o having to send your ECM back each
time. NOTE:
This is NOT an editor, it is only a
flasher, you can't change any parameters yourself. We build the program
for your specs, you just flash it into the ECM. In
general, the software is set up to only flash a calibration into an ECM with
matching VIN to prevent recycling one of our tunes into multiple ECMs. It
does however have the capability to change the VIN
of an ECM, and we provide
serial keys to allow you to do this on a case by case basis for
$55
each.
This is useful for example if you install a replacement ECM into a customer's
car and want to flash it with a calibration for his VIN. We will also
provide a factory GM calibration for the new VIN free of charge. So
you can provide the same ECM factory reflash service using our system for a
fraction of the cost of a Tech 2 and a GM data subscription.
Price:
The
cost of the kit is $385
+ $15 priority
mail shipping to USA. The cost of each vehicle tuned is only $115
(cam/heads or supercharged applications may be slightly more).
We tune as many as you want. We have several dealers in USA and other
countries using our system to program multiple cars
with our custom calibrations.
Currently the following Gen 3 applications are supported. We hope to begin
supporting various Gen 4 CAN bus ECM applications (E40, E38, etc.) in the near
future. As of now, this is an exhaustive list.
